Portfolio Defense
May 28, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
So in my portfolio I did not really add to much to it. I reorganized most of the things I have done this year in my Contemporary lit. class. I dissposed of the works I thought I did not do to well in, and kept all of the ones I thought I did well in. Like the postmodern writings we did earlier this year and he kafka project. I have yet to decided on what I really want to be and what kind of career I am going to pursue in the future, so that is why I did not really base my portfolio on that.
I wish that I could have added plenty of more things to it. I did not like the fact that we had to select the given themes by edublogs and only those. If I could, I would have definately made my own custom theme, a theme that would more express me. I would have also added more media on the side of portfolio, but I think I am not allowed to do that on this. I could have added past works to my portfolio, but the thing is I throw away all of my past works. It was an interesting year in this class and I wish I really could have done better and finished more stronger. Perhaps maybe in the future I could definately use this on presenting my intrests and talents I would like to show others or even the whole world.

Where You Going LeBron?
May 27, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
So after an early exit in the playoffs by LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers, much conversation has been made on where the superstar will be playing next year. This has been predicted by many analysts that he may in fact depart with Cleveland if he and the team would once again fail to win a title, let alone make it to the finals. Many teams had already made moves on their rosters to make cap room to land LeBron on their team. They say though that if LeBron indeed won a title this year he would have more likely to sign and stay with the Cavaliers. Since that was not the case many questions are in the air for the still-young talented player. Now the New York Knicks have been trying to make cap room for hope of adding LeBron to their roster. But after seeing such a lousy performance of them so far, much debate has been made. Since LeBron was indeed of saying that he would love to play on the Knicks team and that he loved the history and the fact that one of his favorite rapper lives there, Jay-Z, he indeed loved the idea of playing there. But this year the team failed to show a lack of effort or any type of reason why Lebron would want to go to the team. Other teams have also been trying to make cap room to land the superstar like the Heat, the L.A. Clippers, the Chicago Bulls, and the New Jersey Nets. All of these teams have made an effort to make a decent and a good roster that could show him a team that could stand a chance to win and win a title. Of course this year has been now known to be one of the most predicted summers because the number of other superstar players that will become free agents this coming up July first. Now standing right now the Chicago Bulls have been known as of now to be the most likely team that LeBron would consider going to. But the Cleveland team has also not given up on keeping there former number one pick. They fired their coach Mike Brown. Rumors were made that LeBron maybe just did not like or just got tired of his fellow coache’s system. As of Now all is still not made and LeBron’s destination has still not been made. But I can assure you that LeBron’s game will not change and that he will continue to get better, and that every money they spend on him he will not waste.

Possible War Trigger: North and South Korea
May 26, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
The two sides of the country have had history for having problems with one another for many years. Just recently though North Korea had decided to add fuel to the fire. It was reported that North Korea was responsible for the sinking of a South Korea warship, killing about 40. The people of the South state that it was done by a North Korean torpedo. This has come to the attention of Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Secratary of State, that North Korea must be responsible for their actions and that there are consequences to what they have done. Some say they have come to believe that the South would plan to retaliate. The thing is that North Korea is denying that they had anything to do with the missle firing. They have begun to believe that this may perhaps be a phase or trigger to a start of a war. Since we are allies with the South we may in fact come into this conversation as well. Hillary Clinton has already begun talks of what to do with the situation speaking with international allies. It was concluded though a couple days later that it was in fact the North who did fire the missle. So the situation is still very much in large. This is something I think and hope will not get into a big thing. We are only assisting the South so there would be no eason for any kind of confrontation here in our country of the U.S. It is only right that our U.S. government should properly look at this situation and how they should apporoach it. If anything the South should not try to add more fuel to the fire by trying to retaliate with no consent of their allies. It would be meaningless for them to try to act on their own since they do have plenty of allies to depend on. They must begin to plot a way to prevent any type of war to occur. The world is already dealing with enough problems far greater then this.

The Fifth of May
May 19, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
In a small town near the bay area, a couple students decided to express their American pride. The thing is it was cinco de mayo or the national Hispanic holiday. During this day most spanish people would wear colors originating from the colors of the Spanish flag. Green, white, and red. Five students of Morgan Hill High thought differently. Instead of wearing those colors they wore colors originating of the American flag. Many Spanish students found this offensive and thought the these students were doing this to discriminate against them. The five students though state that they just decided to wear it that day. They say can’t they not express there American pride whenever they want? The schools principal wanted the students to apologize to the school and to the many Spanish students attending the school. The students although felt that they had nothing to apologize for. Now in my point of view anyone should be able to wear whatever and whenever they want. The students say they just wanted to wear those clothing cause they felt like it, but to me it did seem like they just did that as a joke. This is America and anyone does have the right to express themselves, but we should also respect others of different race and of their culture. The parents of these students thought the whole idea was ridiculous and that there children had no intention of making such a crisis, but of course they would say that. There their parents. The principal of Morgan Hill is also Hispanic so that is why he found the thing a bit offensive. Many people in my class had different views of this situation, but many though the whole act was premeditated. Many fellow Spanish classmates of fine of course found the act offensive and thought these people should at least be respectful and understand that this is an important day to them. The thing is maybe those students thought “this is our country”. Why do they get to celebrate a holiday that is ment for country that there not even in. So the whole idea is complex, but it is not something that big that should effect any of us as individuals at all.

Safety First…
May 19, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
For the past years our nation has been under critical conditions with terroism on the rise. Percautious circumstances have been taken place in many places around the world to prevent any type of terroist attack. Mostly our own national airports. It has been shown that most terrorists try to come to our country by disguising themselves and fly by plane to our country. They have enhanced there ways of bringing their weapons along with them as they travel on plane, and slip by through security. The federal government has then decided to increase the security of several airports across the nations by deploying full-body scanners in them. This is not he only deployment taking place. It was said that more will be sent to other airports from the westcoast to the midwest. Many other precautions are also taking place with more types of security, but the common people still prefer the old way. Taking the traveler to the side and giving them a pat search, also the same rule that the person is searched by someone of their same sex. This is a smart mover made by the federal government. You don’t know what other countries may be plotting against you. With the economy being very scarce many nations could try to come and sneak into your country. Trying to corrupt or society from the inside and even try to threaten us. So it should be our government’s job to stop any outside threats from coming to our country. If not, even our own country maybe in danger of new threats we may not even know of or even know are being planned as we speak.

New Oil, Same Problem
May 19, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Earlier this week on May 18 and 19, oil was found at the coast of Louisiana. The thing is it it is not from the oil spill from the Gulf of Mexico. They have yet to find exactly where it has come from, but they know it orignated somewhere near the coasts of Florida. Much like the animals found on the Gulf of Mexico, birds have been found covered in oil. Just like the birds that have been found in the Gulf of Mexico. Many of these birds look to dive into the ocean to find food or fish. Since the water is contaminated with oil the birds are covered in oil as they dive in. Many rescue groups have taken action on saving these birds by removing as much oil from them. The oil has covered most of there body and have gotten deep into their feather which makes it hard for them to fly let alone even breath. Some researches are starting to think that this oil may have came from the Gulf of Mexico, but they have yet to fully determine if it actually is from there or not. One thing they do know is that the oil from the Gulf of Mexico is starting to spread out more and more each day. They are saying that now the oil has been caught in a loop current between Cuba and Mexico. They say though that this is a good thing. the water in this loop current is much warmer and it will cause the oil to evaporate much quicker. Still this is not a for sure thing that will solve the problem. Like I said before the oil is still spreading and many ocean systems like fishing facilities have been shut down. Since the fish would not be edible because the oil would have covered the fish as well with oil. It seems as if this may just be a never ending problem. People are trying to take action and day by day they are tying to rid of the oil, but they must act quickly and safely to prevent any more damage to be caused. If the oil were to spread more, more animals will be hurt by the oil and more facilities would be shut down that work around the ocean. Hopefully this issue will be dealt with soon and that way people and animals can roam through oceans freely and safe.

Rancho Cotate H.S./ The “Bad” School
March 5, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
It has come to the attention of the students and entire teaching staff of Rancho Cotate High School that it is a “bad” school. It is true, our school does have a bad rep, but is it because of the school itself? There are a lot of bad kids in our school and there are some gangs, but if you compare us to other schools they are way worse then us. Recently this first week of March, parents have been blogging on the press democrat about Rancho and how it is not a good school. They believe it is the schools fault that they do not take action of these bad kids that roam in our school. That there is no discipline taking place. What these parents should look at is outside the box. Our school, Rancho Cotate, is a reflection of our community. If the kids bad and doing bad things it is not the schools fault. Yet it is the parent’s fault. Aren’t the parents the ones who should be making sure their kids are not doing bad things. Is it not the parent’s responsibility to be the parents they are and take notice of their kids and see what they do everyday. They make Rancho sound like its a horrible school when really it isn’t at all. There are so many classes at the Ranch that other schools don’t have. Our teaching staff is an outstanding staff of brilliant teachers of great knowledge. So maybe these parents who have been saying all these things should rethink what they have concluded about the Ranch. In my mind and any other student at Rancho, I do not think it is a bad school at all. Those who do not think so should try to have a tour of the school and actually see if the school itself is a bad school, when really it is just those kids who do bad things who give Rancho a bad rep in the end anyways.

Kafka Project: The Stresses in My Head
February 19, 2010 | Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
To me, I have many stresses going through to my head. Maybe almost everyday of my life. They are a mixture of different emtions that simply just stress me out. At times I don’t even know how I overcome these things. Money is a stress to me, beacause there is cost for every single thing. I know that one day when I’m on my own, I won’t be able to turn to my parents anymore for money. I will have to make my own money some how and provide for myself. This brings up another stress, applications for jobs. At this point of my life I should be able to find a job, but I have yet to get any what so ever. My parents would constantly ask me if I have found a job or do I even plan on getting one. This series of question asking annoys me so much. I know they are just helping me, but they need to know I need my own space and that I know what to do. The fact that I know that one day I will have to support my family stresses me at time. I am an only child so all of the pressure is on me to suceed in the future. I need to in order to sustain a healthy and comfortable lifestyle for myself and family. One mess up can completely change my goals and can screw up my whole career that I am trying to achieve. Notice how all of my stresses just build up on eachother one by one. I noticed that time is never on my good side and I usually at times never have time to finish what needs to be done. My family is big on religion, but to be honest I do not really believe in it. I feel bad at times when they want me to go to church when I really don’t want to go at all. I go because they believe in it sorongly and I do not want to disapoint them. Each of these things are main stresses in my life. In a way though they help me to maintain in my life. To battle through hard times and they help me to achieve. They make me realize that everything in life does not come easy at all and that they must be earned.

P.B.A.(postmodern basketball association)

The NBA has been around for many years and the game has changed a lot since the league was first made. From reverse dunks to reverse lay-ups. Players now a days have come up with new and different types of moves or plays expanding the horizon of the game. Players most likely always remember players from the past and try to expand what they use to do and what they brought to the game, but they try to take it to another level. Many great players have come through this league from Kareem to Magic Johnson and Larry Byrd. Like Charles Barkley said on TNT, Micheal Jordan, who is arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, took the game to another level, but Magic Johnson and Larry Byrd saved the game. Like without them people would have never loved this league and the game. Today it is argued that right now it is between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Right now I say it is Kobe, but one day the torch will be passed to LeBron just like Micheal Jordan did to Kobe.
